Beep! Beep! Beep!

It’s 6:00am and your alarm clock just rudely awoke you from the perfect sleep.  You hit the snooze button hoping to catch a few more ZZs.  5 minutes pass and you finally roll out of bed.  After the typical morning routine, you slowly make your way into the kitchen.  What will you have for breakfast today?  A breakfast shake? Some toast? A bagel? Just a cup of coffee?  Why does the most critical meal of the day always seem like a difficult question?

But what makes the question so difficult?  What are the key parts in making your decision?  Is there a way to make each of these options easier and more appetizing?

There are, and the solutions are right on the kitchen counter, your tabletop appliances.

What do you focus on when purchasing a blender, toaster/toaster oven, or coffee maker?  For some it’s the price, others the brand name.  There are undoubtedly those who simply added the sleekest looking model to their wedding registry, now regretting that decision but unwilling to purchase a new one.

Don’t you wish there was an easy way to understand the differences between the endless options in the appliance aisle?

We are at it again.

The gang here at 4th Strand is kicking off another round of MOvember fundraising for prostate cancer awareness and other men’s health issues. We’ve doubled the office staff since our last efforts and are ready to save the world again with our hairy faces…. or lip rather. This time we are on a mission to raise ONE MILLION dollars!!!

Sorry, I made that up. Seriously though, last year we raised $5,192.00 with our small team of 18 first timers to the MOvember cause. This year we’d like to double those efforts or better. Our goal is an admirable $10,000.

Wait… What in the world is MOvember? Well, it’s almost like November, but the “Mo-“ part is short for “moustaches.” Basically, the entire month of November, men all over the world will participate in the MOvember campaign and grow their facial hair out all month. With their “Mo’s”, these men raise funds and awareness for men’s health issues, specifically prostate cancer and other cancers that affect men.

The team needs your help to be… simply put, better men. If that line made you tear up, visit our MOvember team page and donate. If you didn’t cry, you might be in the same boat as the tin man and might need to visit the all great and powerful Wizard of Oz. :)

4th Strand would like to share some exciting news! We received the honor of being a finalist (out of over 600 companies) in Atlanta’s ‘Best Place to Work’ 2012 contest in the small business category.  To earn this prestigious recognition, thousands of employees were polled to get real opinions about the companies where they work.  People love to work at 4th Strand and here are some obvious reasons why:

  • We have a relaxed atmosphere for people to produce in without that unnecessary corporate stress.
  • We have fun.  As an example, we created a great online tool to make project work easier and PURPOSEFULLY named it the ‘TPS Report’.
  • We have a business model that enables us to employ good people that continually strengthen our business. When people feel secure, they’re just plain happy.
  • 90% of us show up in flip-flops, unless of course we have a client meeting, which necessitates a temporary wardrobe change.
  • We eat lunch together. Daily. It seems trivial, but we find it’s a great time to refresh, connect and catch up with each other.
  • We ONLY use Apple products. Networking, laptops, desktops, WiFi, you name it  - nothing but Apple products!
  • We don’t take ourselves too seriously. We aren’t too proud to laugh at one another and enjoy the moment, whether it’s an opportunity for improvement or a success.
