Welcome to the new 4th Strand!

Welcome to the all-new 4th Strand blog!

After over 3 years as a leader in Product Intelligence Consulting, 4th Strand is on the move again.  We’re rebranding, increasing our digital presence, and continuing to reshape the way retail is being done.

For those unfamiliar with 4th Strand, we provide competitive brand analysis and product performance consulting amongst several other services.  Through our approach, retailers have all the information they need on a simple one-page scorecard, making it easy to compare options and ensure their products perform to expectations.  Making the connection between brand strategy and performance on the shelf improves products, increases customer satisfaction, and saves 100s of millions of dollars each year.

One of the key parts of our latest enhancement is this blog.  Whether you are a consumer, retailer, vendor, or anyone involved in the retail industry, our goal is to provide purchasing tips, industry insights, and thoughtful analysis.

Friday Sugah-Shock

One box of our selection this morning

Jonathan, our favorite 4th Strand intern, went on a donut run this morning to one of the best bakeries in Atlanta. Actually… THE BEST bakery in Atlanta. Downtown Atlanta’s Sublime Donuts. Their story was just covered by AJC this month, Kamal Grant has been receiving national attention for his amazing sweet creations. They’ve been named the best bakery in America. That’s huge!

Ok… back to young Jonathan, being that he’s still a college kid he probably slept in a little more than he should have. Eleven co-workers were eagerly waiting for his… er the donut’s arrival. He made it before lunch. However, at 9AM there was an uprising and his cube was overturned. People get nasty when there’s donut talk. I know my wife does. Oops.

Moving on Up!

OK. We totally ran out of space. So… we moved our office… not too far as you can see in the video, but you wouldn’t have known that unless I told you.

I asked one of our Managing Directors how we were able to do this. He explained, “We acquired the unique opportunity to increase our office space and staff due to an increase in workload and sustainable client relationships.Yes, that’s really how he talks. Luckily, you have me to translate. Sustainable client relationships simply means our customers like us because we go the extra mile to make them happy.

Psst! Here’s a secret, it got so bad; we started hiring people and asked them to work from their cars so they can still access the server on WiFi. Just kidding. We stopped doing that because it started getting cold. I’m still kidding!

The good news is healthy growth is a good thing. What do I mean by healthy growth? Well, our increased demand matches our organizational support strategy. In other words, we made sure we had the steady workload first, before we hired new employees.

Behold! The transformation.
